Step 2 — rate options and payment

Notes

  • Different rates apply for Society members and non-members.
  • Special Offer: If you are not a member of the Society and would like to join, you can join during registration at a special introductory rate — see option for ‘Non-member special offer’ below (the usual rate for SAP annual membership is £26 p.a. Membership renewal runs on a calendar year basis.)
  • Accommodation: Rate 1 includes accommodation (B&B) on nights of Friday 03 and Saturday 04 July.
    • In the event that Rate 1 is sold out, it may yet be possible to book accommodation at Pollock Halls by contacting the reservation team directly at  reservations@ed.ac.uk  (cost: approx. £115-£130 per night B&B).
  • Additional nights accommodation: If any additional nights are required, this may be possible by contacting reservations@ed.ac.uk (cost: approx. £115-£130 per night B&B).  If you are booking additional nights, it is advised to do so early, as this cannot be guaranteed.
    • If booking these, please advise the reservations team that you will be attending Society for Applied Philosophy Annual Conference 2026, 03 -05 July, booking c/o Tracy Marshall.  
    • N.B. The venue will not have delegate details until w/c 15 June, so while it is advised to book early, it is also advised to also follow up in w/c 15 June to request alignment of any additional nights booked with your conference registration reservation to ensure that the same room can be held throughout your stay.

Important

    • IPlease complete only one shopping cart per delegate.
    • Registration is complete when you have completed steps 1 and 2.

  • When you ‘add to cart’, a new tab will open in your browser with a PayPal shopping cart (your item will be added there).
  • If you are selecting more than one item, return to the list below and ‘add to cart’ another item/s – the PayPal shopping cart will be updated with any items you add from the list below.
  • Once you have the items you need in the cart, you can select a ‘check out’ option to make the payment.  You can either:
    • use your own PayPal account. OR 
    • use the guest checkout option — which will allow you to use the ‘Pay by credit card’ (button/option) without any need to hold, login, or set up a PayPal account.
  • Once you complete the payment you will receive a receipt via the PayPal system.
  • The deadline for completing all registrations is 31 May 2026.

  • Rate 4 – Faculty day rate – University of Edinburgh Faculty only (rate includes registration and tea/coffee only.  N.B. lunches and dinner are not included, please select another rate if lunch/es and/or dinner/s are required).

    • Cancellation policy: due to the nature of the event and conditions of the client booking contract, only fees pertaining to registration (max £100 for full weekend registration / £50 for single day) can be reimbursed in the event of any cancellation. Cancellation can be made at any point up until the close of registration on 31 May. Registration fees cannot be reimbursed after this time.
    • N.B. Regrettably, the Society cannot be held responsible for changes to the programme which occur as a result of volcanic ash or other natural occurrences which might disrupt air travel, nor can the Society be held liable for reimbursing conference fees of delegates consequently unable to attend.

Join the Society

Membership of the Society is open to anyone interested in our aims, whether or not you hold a philosophical qualification or are employed as a professional philosopher.

Membership includes online access to the Journal of Applied Philosophy, as well as a reduced fee for the Society’s annual conference.   Members can also apply for event funding through the Society’s grant scheme.

Membership and journal subscription are handled by Wiley, as the publishers of the Journal of Applied Philosophy. The button will take you through to their website.
